I am here at mister Peter Hurley
master extraordinaire have the personality Colts
view I would say it would seem to me that you know is I
from my perspective you are just as well known for your photography as you are
for your personality that is that is the big part a
who you are would you say that's true i guess i mean a lot on my work
revolves around direction so my personality being big is help me
get people to behave the way I want them to be even from the cameras
or the course my career it's been a huge thing that you say being big ways
with the media I don't know I'm a little bit out there and how'd I get very
excited an animated when I'm photographing
yeah and when I'm teaching so I'd like to I when I decide to teach
iPod I was like I don't wanna be flat I want people to
have fun like when I shoot it's pretty much the same be
thing I want my clients to have fun at Wal were
getting the product that they need so I'm messing with them the entire time
but I get the quality product as well
right so we're like high-fiving after the shooting everything and I get the
series picture negative totally cracking up picture because in the atmosphere
that I create
on the set and I do that with my teaching tonight trying to give the
information
but I given way that's funny so people laugh and have a good time with it but
longer learn
yeah exactly you care you care about the experience
yeah that when you get it comes very naturally to you I think
evolved over time I don't think at the beginning it was like then I think that
on I was like everybody your when you put something from your camera and you
look at them when you look through the viewfinder new home in touch with my see
this person
had an experience tired looking right at me
yeah when I can tell them they look alright house but you can even as you
can for modeling right
yeah no did that not help you for their second
getting there was like to be on that side yeah I got it
yeah how I got I think there's a misconception out there that miles no
Hana
behave in front camber or that actors know how to be even from the camera I
don't think that's true at all I think think some models
headlights signature moves that they can do right but once you do that for five
minutes what else do they have
so yeah for all you know I haven't moved yet so I am any moves that also wanna
when I got in from the camera I have this one photographer say
just do what you do I was mom when I get paid for this job for a things for
Wrangler
and I was standing on white psych and the tire is like a man just do what you
do and I was a I don't do you
anything for me when we gonna do right now I don't know I don't like
you know just like bear with these art directors and everybody looking at me
and I was like
in these clothes and I was like okay I'll do something but
and then there's only so what you not only did was take direction yeah
from one photographers that I work with right knee and he's and kinda gave me a
direction then I was quite like a look at the pictures and they're amazing my
won the first but I reserve a shot me was Bruce Weber and he's the reason why
I'm a photographer yeah I know
but I look at those pictures and I was like so-called from his camera and I'm
it's such a dork in front of this guy's camera so what's going on here
right now tried to me it's all about direction in polling
the best at you add to your subject and really reaching in and trying to figure
out what it is how you're going to create a report
and a dialogue with them over the course the shoot so that they behave
differently
in from your camera then they wouldn't from somebody else yeah
and you do coaching cracks Bihar I'll
having people find out about that I'll million what are you doing exactly

allows you to carry two or more per bodies up to 6 lenses
took classes all the little critter meant that you might me
built to ensure that everything is protected and conveniently traveling
right by your side I got a subject here this is Karen in my body
phrase darn San Francisco say hi lou
okay now I'm in a direct him a little bit let's say he comes in
and he's standing stand up straight bring
bringing now stand yet let's see Stanley de producción down a little bit me
bring your chin back a little bit with this mass nap
I up
but looking at SeaTac a kiss now GN your forehead towards me
Diego not that not now not that much now ease up a little bit now chin up a
little bit
there you go nice good so that's where I'm shooting arm get them in there so I
get my
John bring down a little bit more I have some shots a caminar minute show you
and we're going to look at is drawn a line in those shots on and I'm I should
remain
today as well and just show you the before and after when we bring
drawn back how's that sound you turn Journal body to
to your right and drop your front shoulder down a little bit
now chilled till did this this way a little bit there you go girl knows this
way
right there alright see that now breach don't drop the shoulder that much Sienna
stay more like a normal human being 30 neighboring forehead street towards the
camera
but ill the head a little bit this one i'm looking i'm looking right here it is
exaggeration this John line on him guys
now bring your chin straight back
and tilt your head this way look at the difference guess
now stand like a normal human being was without overdoing it
still that's about the way he would stand number your forehead street
towards me
there and then now chilled the head this way and look at this
see the difference now five got if I've got my key light over here and I'm going
for shadowing on that site which I usually do with guys
I wanna make sure I get a really tight John line right there so that's what I'm
going for
free now will further very nice good
now I'm watching Tron you back children lean back
and now breach India this is why
I never dropped the back shoulder when I'm shooting headshots
looking then manana see the difference drug front shoulder slightly just a
little bit not much
now bring up for handouts for me really nice until 22 there's a little bit this
week just accentuated
Joe good very nice there you go so you guys I think that's that's pretty good
pretty good way to it determine a the good directly in a good way to
figure out how to get that John we needed thanks chairman
UT thank you goodbye some good
okay guy so here we go so here's karen miller I took some shots of a male
straight my point
art in this position I think he's standing pretty much like a normal human
being would
without being polled to get their chance down arm
from this point obviously you can't see you all this
ridiculous action down here that you don't want to contend with
arm so I told me bring the chin now
and their egos and now this is a little bit further up but I still I think I
need a little stronger drawn a line here
a good three the John here I can get ready this at little bit action that's
left there
and bone ship bank there it is
