WIDE BAY INSTITUTE OF TAFE BRANDING
iAuditor for the automotive industry
is a partnership project Wide Bay Institute of TAFE
and Automotive Skills QLD
funded under the national VET eLearning strategy.
Automotive line managers
were offered the opportunity
to use a combination of national broadband network (NBN) technologies
when developing their workforce development plans.
Participants in this program developed industry relevant checklists
using the iAuditor app
to build an Action Learning Portfolio
as evidence toward recognition of the Key Management Skills Set
a partial completion of the Certificate IV in Front Line Management.
In collaboration with Automotive Skills QLD or ASQ,
Wide Bay TAFE developed a flyer to inform ASQ members of the project.
This was circulated fortnightly via e-newsletters.
We also shared project progress at our monthly staff meetings within Wide Bay TAFE
An information session was held using iConnect,
TAFE’s web conferencing program,
to introduce interested automotive companies to the concept
of using cloud based quality forms
as an innovative, relevant and efficient use of technology.
Performax saw this project
as an opportunity to trial this cloud based technology
to complete their quality checklists in-situ in the workplace.
Performax have made their project templates available
in the iAuditor Public Library for others in this industry to access.
The Key Management Skills provided Performax participants
with skills in team planning,
working with an operational plan,
leading and supervising others,
and managing team performance to achieve objectives
and KPI's or (key performance indicators).
These skills assist in workforce development planning confidence.
Wide Bay TAFE will soon be using the iAuditor app
to move toward a paperless document system.
Our traineeship consultants can then use a smart phone to record onsite details,
including GPS location of the visit,
photos of physical resources,
workplace supervisor signature etc..
This has been a great tool to encourage better efficiencies
When an iAuditor checklist is completed,
we can immediately share it via the cloud
or email a pdf version to the trainee,
workplace or TAFE mailbox.
Saving time in processing
or replicating handwritten documents when returning to the office.
This initiative also saves paper and printing,
reducing our carbon footprint.
