Welcome to UTS Library's video on the Avery Index of Architectural Periodicals. Avery
Index is the top database for architecture articles at UTS. To access Avery Index click
on Find Databases under the Quick Links menu on the Library home page.Then click architecture,
then the top architecture databases to find Avery. Then sign in using your student id
and password. Here is the Avery Index. If you'd like to you can search for an architect
or a building or both by putting words into this search box here. For example Norman Foster
and Swiss Re. And in this case there's 32 results. However if you'd like to search for
articles containing building plans and sections use the Advanced search option. Write your
keywords into the search boxes for example Daniel Libeskind and the Jewish Museum Berlin.
Then scroll down to this document feature option and select from the list. Then search...
On the results page you'll see a list of relevant articles. For more information hover over
the preview icon in the top right of each reference. If the PDF is not attached to the
reference click on 'Find a copy' - a pop up window will now open. Then, click on the SFX
button.There are two ways to find full text - the first option is to click on the full
text link and find the PDF online. If there's no online PDF available, option 2 is to search
for a print copy by licking the SFX button and this 'holdings in UTS library classic
catalogue link. If successful you'll see a page like this which will give you a call
number where you can find the print journal on our shelves. That concludes this video
