was intended to be a progressive method to ensure that children were being taught the fundamentals
of math,
reading and writing.
Now, the Associated Press reports that seventeen of the nation’s fifty largest cities
had high school graduation rates lower than fifty percent in 2008, and one million students
have dropped out of high school in that year.
Although the plans of education were intended to benefit all students, statistics are not showing
its success.
Our country is now faced with the challenge of revising our system so it will better the learning
experience for students nationwide.
In order to overcome that challenge, we we need to examine the current issues
and the possible solutions.
There’s an old adage that says that the more you learn,
the more you earn. The more education you get, the higher your income will be.
So we need to focus
on education if we're going to maintain
our competitiveness.
But unfortunately, we're found finding that we're slipping
in terms of math and science
on an international basis.

um, was supposed to be reauthorized in 2007
and it hasn’t.
So right now,

what needs to be done
