A couple or three things we're looking to expand upon at
Michael Waltrip Racing as we look at 2011 and beyond, is
our ability to grow our social media.
I'm on Twitter, MW55 is me, and I have like 45,000 fans
that follow me, and we use Twitter a lot.
When I first started doing it, I just did it
for the fun of it.
I thought it'd be pretty cool.
And then I saw real quickly how much I could engage the
race fans, the people that love our sports in general,
and my team specifically.
And so now any time our sponsors want to roll out a
promotion, or they want to talk about--
NAPA Autp Parts is a great partner of ours, as is Aaron's
Sales & Lease Ownership.
If they want to give away a hat at one of their stores, or
if they have anything that they want to connect to the
fans with, they call me right away and say, can you do this?
So I mix that up with me being a goofy guy, me being fun,
with their business, and try to get it out to
the fans that way.
Also we just think it's really important that we continue to
try to figure out ways to engage all
the fans across America.
People that maybe like motor-- any kind of motor sports.
If it's motocross, or Indycar, if they're a Danica Patrick
fan, or if they're a Travis Pastrana, anything with four
wheels or two wheels that has a motor on it, we want them to
know more about NASCAR.
So we're just trying to expand our borders, and grab more
people, and hopefully get them engaged in our sport.
