Hey everyone! I'm Faenimh. This week I've got a tempera grassa made on gesso'ed panel for you.
Before I started painting with my tempera, I made a relief using a thick gesso
and I made this thick gesso by adding more chalk to my normal gesso
tempera has a tendency to show every irregularity in surface
and I decided to use that to my advantage in this case
and I don't apply this just so too thick because then it will crack
after the gesso has dried, I start with painting the background
and while I'm painting the background, I move from dark to light
and when I've painted in my entire forest, I give the background to wash of white
so it all gets this unsharp and foggy feel
tempera is a paint that is really bright a really sharp
and by covering it with white I can give it all a softer feel
when my background is done I paint my foreground, again from dark to light
and I paint my Birds by just giving the relief of wash of color
all the irregularities on this relief show up through the paint
so I don't have to paint my entire bird, I just have to trace the parts that are raised in gesso
and the birds will show up
and that's the end of this painting
I hope you've enjoyed watching
don't forget to leave a comment if you've got any questions
the music is by echolox and you can find his link in the description
thank you so much for watching and I hope to see you in my next video
bye!
