There are two ways you can customize how your Phase One 645DF camera operates:
Using custom functions, and custom shooting modes.
Custom functions allow you to change how the dials and settings on your camera work.
For instance, the auto exposure lock is on the back
and the auto focus lock is on the front.
Some photographers like to change things around for their style of work.
You can do this using a custom function.
To set the custom function make sure the camera is on
and turn the exposure mode dial to CF.
Custom functions are saved to one of three setups called A, B or C.
I'll rotate the rear dial to select A,
and now all my custom settings will be saved here.
Using the front dial I can flick along the various custom functions.
There are around twenty on this camera.
Using the rear dial I can change the function to a different setting.
It's that easy.
In addition to custom functions you can also create and save custom shooting modes.
For instance, let's say I'm regularly setting my camera
to an aperture of F/2.8 in aperture priority mode.
To save this as a custom shooting mode,
simply set the camera as you like it. So, F/2.8 in aperture priority.
Now, hold down the set button
and move the exposure mode dial to C1.
Let go of the set button and the camera settings are now saved.
You can save up to three custom shooting modes: C1, C2 and C3.
They will remember the camera settings including any custom functions you have set.
If you have an IQ series digital back on your Phase One 645DF,
you can set up your custom functions using the digital back's touch screen.
With the custom functions and custom shooting modes
you can design your Phase One 645DF camera to work like no other.
