There are times when students will need an assignment reset due to submitting an incorrect version of the document or if the submission is
interrupted and gets "stuck"
To clear an attempt: Click Grade Center | then click Full Grade Center
Hover over the cell | click the contextual menu | and choose View Grade Details
In the Attempts tab, you'll probably either see an exclamation point or clipboard with a pen icon (Attempt in progress) under Value
If the assignment is indeed stuck, it is likely that Attempt in Progress icon will be present instead of an exclamation point
there are several buttons to the right | Click the Clear Attempt button
You'll be reminded that this is a permanenant action and cannot be undone
Click OK to confirm
The assignment link has been reset for the student to resubmit their work
If you are uncomfortable with removing the student's submission, you can choose to click the Allow Additional Attempt button instead
You will be promted to confirm the creation of a new attempt for the user
This will give the student the option to submit a new attempt while retaining the original submission
By default, Blackboard will treat the new attempt as the gradable file and ignore the original submission
Please note that if the assignment has date restriction in use, and is currently hidden,
you will need to open the link once more for the student to resubmit their work
The instructor cannot submit work for a student as submissions are based on ASURITE user name
