Decorating mountboards with transferrable lines.
This decoration is done by applying two parallel lines around the mountboard's hole.
I mark the reference points with a pencil of where the decorative lines will go.
The points are to be applied with the small holes which are found on the mountboard's
square.
If you don't know this square you can have a better look at it in the video which is
called "square for mountboards.
If you prefer, you can mark intersecting lines in the corners instead of points.
The signs marked with a pencil refer to the outside of the decoration.
This is the sheet of transferrable which I'm using.
I have to firstly remove the siliconed protection paper and then place the sheet in the position
mapped by the reference points.
It's better to position the sheet far away from your hands to avoid that some pressure
from your hands could inadvertently transfer some small piece of decorating sheet on the
mountboard.
After having found the right position I put the siliconed paper on the right extremity
to avoid that the decoration is applied over the edge.
I press evenly along the golden line with this burnisher.
I then delicately lift the sheet as I move the burnisher.
During this process I check that the golden line is transferred completely on the mountboard.
I apply the second decorative line with the same process.
I then apply the third line. Note that in this case I didn't put the siliconed
paper on the side because the side coincides with the end of the line.
In this case I transferred a piece of undesirable decoration.
The unwanted piece is easily removed with some adhesive tape.
I finally apply the fourth line.
I can see there are 2 imperfections I have to correct:
The golden line has transferred over the limit ... and another small piece of decoration
is still attached to the mountboard.
I help myself with the small knife to remove the excess from the line.
We've already seen that you can use some adhesive tape to remove the other piece.
I now apply another thinner golden line on the inside of the first line.
I mark the reference points.
This small sheet contains golden lines that are very thin and it has something more.
As well as the lines it also contains the corners.
I press the first corner above the points I marked earlier with a burnisher.
I then continue with the other corners.
I can now join the corners.
I continue with the other sides of the mountboard.
These are the sheets of transferrable golden lines provided by Rinaldin.
The sheets have dimension of 9 x 35 cm. The lines have the length of about 30 cm.
In case of a mountboard of larger dimensions the decorative lines can naturally be applied
one next to the other in a way to obtain a straight line.
... and these are the same silvered lines.
You will find all transfers for decorating the mountboard on Rinaldin catalogue and on
the website www.rinaldin.com
