Monster house is by far the DIY house I most frequent.
They put on a lot of shows and bring in a lot of bands. During the school year they - when everyone is there, they will have at least a show a week on average.
Over the summer too, they still pull in fans for summer shows.
The shows are smaller, but it's still just as fun.
Just go on, like a tuesday night and see a band.
When you step back and take a look at it, it really is surprising, the amount artistic talent that's right at our feet.
You kind of assume that any university with 60,000 people, you're going to find that talent somewhere.
It's really nice to have a channel and a focus for that talent to express itself without having to deal with any of the craziness of the university.
It's nice to have a place to play with good people who show up and good people who are hosting it and other good bands.
It sounds really self explanatory, but there's a lot of *** places to play.
*** show up, *** run the shows and the bands are ***. It's just, you know, ***.
So I think, the scene- monster house is awesome, legion is awesome Yuka house is really great, there's a lot of really great people around here.
I think that that is super important because- I know Promo west owns all the big venues
If you're not one of the bands that can play for Promo west, you can't get into those big venues.
I think it's good that bands- local bands have places to play.
Look at me. I'm so cool. I can play bass and sing at the same time.
