We've chosen the airfield "Birrfeld"
because we needed a location, that offers a lot of space and wideness,
and that is a secured area.
I have pictures in my mind,
that I want to reproduce exactly.
I'm always prepared for a shooting and don't say to the model "just do something".
I tell the model how I want her to act.
Depending on the model, I repeat the scene till it fits.
We have thought about what would suit best
and which cars are available to us.
We liked the Speedster most.
It was obvious to do a "The Avengers" shooting.
That's why I designed and tailored a suit,
that fits to the model.
We needed a male model. Our friend Thom was perfect.
He is alterable and was also very pleased about the bowler...
We prefer real locations,
because you can smell the atmosphere and act with the environment.
For me as photographer and for the model, it is easier to react to the environment.
Furthermore, you can be spontaneous.
On the airfield "Birrfeld" we could redirect starting planes.
They were the perfect background. Everybody was happy.
You have to pay attention to the environment. Sometimes the sun shines, sometimes it's cloudy.
Somebody has to hold the stand. Otherwise it's getting blown away.
It was very cold.
My fingers were frozen at the end.
I felt sorry for the two models, because the hadn't warm costumes on.
You know how to interact with the team members.
We try to avoid composings.
We work conventionally, although with high-tech equipment.
We did some composings and the results were quite good.
But it's not our thing. Most of todays composings seem to me
a little bit similar.
The wind blowing through the hair, you don't have this with fair weather.
It's almost boring.
We like a movie style in our pictures
and don't want to do standard fashion photos.
We need a story behind.
Yes, I always need a story behind the pictures.
I want to work with models with a strong expression.
Not only in body language but also in facial expression.
When I do fashion photography, I like to tell a story.
With this shooting we concentrated on the movie-look.
Yes, we did. And I think we got it.
