Hello, and welcome to a Learning and Technology Services tutorial on creating a clip of a
video on the Streaming Media Portal. Clipping allows you to grab pieces of any video and
save them under your My Videos tab for easy access.
This may come in handy if you wish to only use a section of a video in class: instead
of having to skip through the video or queue it up either prior to or during class, you
can clip only the section of the video you wish to show.
First, find the video you wish to clip. When you reach the beginning of the section you
want, click the Add New Clip icon.
In the window that appears, note that the time you clicked the icon is recorded as the
Start Time. By default, the End
Time will be the end of the video, but you may edit this if desired. Note the time tracking
below the progress bar of the video. If desired, edit the title and description of the clipping.
Click Add New Clip. A message will appear, alerting you that the clip was successfully
created.
To view the clips you have created, click the My Videos tab. Select My Clips. You will
see the thumbnails for all the clips you have created.
