How to draw a face - PaigeeDraw Big Eyes Tutorial, by Paige Rohrick Part 1 of 3 how to sketch a face.
Hi I am Paige Rohrick from PaigeeDraw, and welcome to my video Tutorials. In this tutorial I am going to demonstrate how to draw a face.
How I draw faces is by a circle, then a small triangle. Then I put horizontal and vertical lines to help me with the position of the facial features.
Now I am going to show you some examples. Basic, side, view, up down etc. These are examples of positions you can give your characters.
First we are going to start sketching the face.
You start with your basic circle and triangle. I enjoy making faces in this particular angle.
Once you have the basics done I always start with the eyes...

I am going to make this character happy. So I am going to make the character with Big Eyes.

Once you have the face drawn, you can start with the hair. I start with the side pieces first.
Then I work on the bangs, then I work on the back.
A way to draw hair, is to pick a point on the scalp. Then start branching hair off from that point. This helps give the hair a more natural flow.

And then I draw the shoulders.
And now I have just finished sketching my face.
As you can see drawing faces is...
I can draw them very quickly, because I draw them all of the time. Practice makes perfect.
When I practice, I do one particular component at a time, and draw and draw and draw it. The more times you do it, the better that you get.
So here is the final sketch. I will do a few more videos like this to give you the idea of how to complete.
Thanks for watching my tutorial on how to sketch a face.
