we have completed the butterfly
I crocheted over a tail at the beginning, I am going to go over a strand
pull it back in the opposite direction
just like that
cut it off
I am going to sew in
the tail
right between the stitches
I am putting my needle
between the stitches
this is what it looks like on the side
you can't see it through there
the tail is being sewn right through the double crochet
i have a package of chenille wire stems
I am going to show how to attach the stem
i'm going to
measure like this
and i want to pull it up a little bit
like that
I am going to cut right about
here
and then take and twist the wire like that
i'm going to take the end of the wire put some little
curly cue loops
one the end
of the stem like that
I am going to do the same thing for the other one
just like that
this is an example if you do not have access to the chenille stems
i've used four strands of yarn
they are approximately ten inches long
and i'm going to place them
evenly like this
across the center
and then tug
up a little bit like that
and now i'm going to make
a secure knot
at the top
just like that
now you will want to make another knot
on top of the antenna so they will stay in place
trim off any extra yarn like that
with this one, you may want to tie a little knot
or secure with a dab of glue, to hold the center in place
another suggestion would be the twisted cord, you could use that around the
center as well if you do not have access to chenille wire stems
I do have video tutorials showing how to make the twisted cord
