So, probably one of the most important things about the value of a vintage bicycle, regardless
of what style it is, or what area it's from, is its originality. You want an original bike,
if you can have one. If you have a bike, you have a choice between restoring it, or cleaning
up the bike. I'd clean it up and keep it original. The next thing, is a man's bike versus a woman's
bike, or a boy's style versus girl's style. Here we have two English bikes. The man's
bike is older than the woman's bike, but a couple of things, a woman's bike of course,
has a sloping top tube, and the man's has a horizontal top tube. It's a lot easier to
find women's bicycles, and girl's bicycles in good condition, compared to men's bicycles.
The reason is, most guys have either crashed their bikes, took poor care of them, left
them outside, stripped parts off them, modified them, did all kinds of things. Whereas women
and girls weren't really into that, and so it's, you're very likely to find a woman's
bike in untouched condition, complete condition, than you are a man's bike, so that in turn,
makes a man's bike more valuable.
