Australian Anchorman fans got to meet Ron Burgundy and the rest of his news team on
Sunday, as Sydney played host to the sequel's world premiere. The movie reunites Will Ferrell,
Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Christina Applegate as they adapt, or try
to adapt to a 24 hour news channel.
Sorry sweetie, you're the best. Quick kiss.
Achoo!
The 2004 original, "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy", won cult status on the back
of satirical commentary on the ingrained sexism of the 1970s. It made about $90 million at
the box office.
Speaking about his fellow cast members, Paul Rudd, who plays Brian Fantana, said he had
trouble seeing the real people behind the film's characters.
I actually identify them with their characters in the same way, I think, everybody who watches
the movie does now, too.
And Steve Carell, who returns as the lamp-loving Brick Tamland, was kind of in character on
the Burgundy carpet.
If going to see this movie just gets people to vote, that's all we're hoping for.
Due for release in the UK on December 18th, the sequel features cameos by a raft of
celebrities including Kirsten Dunst, Liam Neeson, James Marsden, Nicole Kidman and Kanye
West.
