To access the system, go to www.monitoringmethods.org.
On the Home page, you will see the main site navigation buttons in the blue banner – Browse,
Create, Learn, and Discuss. Under the Learn menu, you will find the site glossary and
FAQ which are helpful resources in orienting users to the site. The FAQ highlights common
issues that users have run into in the past. Please check here for answers to your questions
before sending in support requests. If you need to contact the site administrators or
have a question that is not answered in the FAQ, you can send in a support request. Click
Help in the Learn menu or at the top of any page. This will take you to the support form.
Once you submit this, someone will follow up on your request within 24 hours during
weekdays.
To the right of the picture, you will find options for logging in. Below the picture
on the Home page, you will find a repeat of several main menu items and links to key site
information – again, the FAQ and glossary can be found here, as well as information
specific to different types of users. The diagram in the lower left shows our anatomy
of a protocol. This is to emphasize how terminology is used on the site so users can be consistent
in documenting protocols and methods.
Users can also view up-to-date site statistics and latest updates on the lower part of the
Home page. For those that are interested, click on the Subscribe link to get site updates
emailed to you every two weeks.
At the top of the Home page, you will find a global site search, an additional link to
log in, a link to Help, and a link to the Community, where you can see the most recent
members who have logged in.
To log in to MonitoringMethods.org, enter your email address and password in the green
box on the Home page and click Log In. If you have an account but have forgotten your
password, click the Forgot Password link and submit a Forgot Password request. For those
that had an account transferred from cbfish.org, you will have to reset your password by clicking
the Forgot Password link. Once you complete the request, the system will send an email
with password reset instructions. If you do not see this email in your Inbox, check your
Junk or Spam folder. If you still do not see the email, contact Support by clicking the
Help link at the top of the Home page or under the Learn menu.
If you do not have a MonitoringMethods.org account, click the Join or Need an Account
link on the Home page. Fill out the new account request. Please note that if your organization
is not listed in the drop down menu, you will need to request it be added by clicking the
Not Listed link before you will be able to submit your new account request. Once you
complete the request, the system will send an email with an account verification link.
This link is time sensitive and only valid for 72 hours. If you do not see this email
in your Inbox, check your Junk or Spam folder. If you still do not see the email, contact
Support by clicking the Help link at the top of the Home page or under the Learn menu.
Once you are logged in, you will see additional, personalized options such as the My Stuff
link at the top and new main menu items. The Review menu item is not developed yet, but
will eventually be the location for peer review process information for protocols and methods.
