Unique PR activities were started to expand Monken to many people in Akihabara.
Although it seems to be a game-related shop, this is a store selling goods like anime-collaboration T-shirts.
Here, T-shirts of characters from Monken began being sold, though the game hasn't yet been commercialized.
Staff members on the game specially become staff of the shop for this day. But, what was their goal?
Character designer Mr.Nouguchi "I was nervous because some people actually had voiced harsh opinions on Twitter. But, contrary to what I had thought, visitors were really warm, and I wouldn't have come to realize this if I hadn't met them in person."
The owner of this shop, Mr. Kitayama, is one of supporters of Monken. He sympathized with the potential of the project and suggested selling the T-shirts.
Mr. Kitayama "The project is very interesting. Especially since they are open to derivative works of the game. You can do whatever you want. Hatsune Miku became popular so quickly with that method. It is even said that people can make a new game based on that, and I think it"ll be very interesting. My expectations are high."
Such a meeting also took place through the T-shirt sales.
He did derivative work online. He modified Monken's iron ball and created poster art.
I did so because I'd heard that people could make derivative work without permission.
I was so surprised. You're a professional, aren't you?
Not at all! I was so surprised. You're a professional, aren't you?
Not at all!
Really?!
People do such things spontaneously and users add excitement.
Team Monken wants to connect to users more closely during the game production process.
By involving users as a developer, Team Monken is trying to create game content that will grow in various fields.
Gunyu "Capcom, which has many recognizable brands and is active in multiple businesses, doesn't only expand target users but also strengthens ties with users."
Daiba "Either way, what is vital is a new connection between makers and users. It seems that changes and developments that will surprise everyone hold the keys to the future of the gaming industry."
