Hi! I’m Jennifer on behalf of expertvillage.com. I’m from A Perfect Fit Alterations in Burleson,
Texas, 817-447-3522. Today we’re going to discuss some buttons. Once you’ve determined
how many buttons you need which you’re going to find that on the back of your pattern under
the notions, you need to think a little about what type of button you’re going to put
on your garment. Some buttons are washable, some buttons are only dry cleanable and some
buttons you have to remove from your garment before you do either. These buttons here a
decorative type button, on the back of the card they’ll tell you these are washable
and dry cleanable, they’re a shank button which will require you to sew them on by hand.
These are also a shank button, these are hand painted buttons, so they’re a little more
delicate but they’re also going to be washable and dry cleanable. These buttons here, you’re
going to find on a more casual garment, they can be sewn on by a machine, they have the
4 holes, they also come with 2 holes and hose are always usually washable and dry cleanable,
these are also a decorative button. Once you’ve chosen your fabric be sure that your buttons
are the right one for your project.
