Eugene Andreassi: My name is Eugene Andreassi. I’m vice president of marketing and retail
services at Benjamin Moore. We’re here to help out with the Giving Moore Effort. We’ve
been to a number of communities in the New York metropolitan area. We’ve been to some
parts of Brooklyn. We’ve made deliveries throughout other areas of the metro area,
and now we’re here on the ground with our colleagues from Benjamin Moore representing
our company to help out some of the citizens here in Union Beach, New Jersey. What we’ll
be doing today is two things. We’ll be dropping some needed cleaning materials off to some
folks that really can use them right now in this area, which has just been devastated
by Sandy. Additionally, we’ll be leaving some heavier, bulkier items here at the Borough
Hall for collection at the community collection points right here.
Nick Harris: For me the Giving Moore program really all about it is doing what Benjamin
Moore has done for over 130 years, which is just doing the right thing. For us it’s
about helping our friends and neighbors. We are all about home. Giving Moore is about
helping people get back to their homes, and in some small way we hope that being here
kind of gets them in the right place.
Alistair Linton: You know I work for Benjamin Moore because they’re the type of company
that wants to be successful within our community as part of our community. And so being able
to take part in activities like the Giving Moore initiative down here in Union Beach
they give you a real sense of purpose and make you feel very good about what the company’s
doing. I think every little bit helps right now with these families. They’ve gone through
a lot. There’s a lot of – there’s a mess out there, and so the materials that
we’re distributing hopefully will give them a little boost in terms of their cleanup efforts.
Brian Schnell: It’s pretty heartbreaking. You see people that are obviously still living
in their houses, but the sheetrock has been torn out. They’ve been gutted back to studs.
Some people have had their floors and subfloors torn up, and then you see all sorts of personal
items and you know TVs, books, clothes, everything out by the curb. People are definitely happy
that there’s help. There’s been a lot of appreciation.
Grace Staudt: Even – you know even as little as this to them it means a lot more.
Susan Shapiro: Giving Moore program means that those who are more fortunate after this
storm get to help those people who had such devastation after the hurricane. And Benjamin
Moore’s given us an opportunity to really help out when in most cases you might not
be able to.
Bob Chin: Benjamin Moore has always relied on local retailers who support our paint as
well as our color system, so this is a great way for giving back.
Nick Harris: It was one of my proudest moments as an employer of Benjamin Moore, and I’ve
been employed for 22 years. And this really is about what brands should be doing and what
companies should be doing, so I feel very proud. That big red 18-wheeler behind us it
kind of really does it for me, so it makes me very proud that we’re here with our neighbors
and friends.
All: Benjamin Moore loves Union Beach.
