Hey everybody, Caleb Messer with GME Supply Company. Welcome to our beautiful showroom.
Today we're going discuss job site communication, whether you're the manager trying to keep
your people productive or the people that have to do the running back and forth, it's
nice to not have to wait ten minutes to get information to-and-fro from climbing back
up and down the tower or having to walk to different parts of the job site to talk to
people. One potential inexpensive way to take advantage
of some new technology is two way radios. They're a lot cheaper than cell phones, a
lot more convenient, and we've got a few different options that we can evaluate.
So on two-way radios, Motorola has a couple of different options that we can feature.
They have the CLS Series, the one that I'm holding here is the CLS-1410. And they also
have the RDU Series, this is the RDU-2020. Both of the lines that we represent have a
couple of different options. For example, the RDU Series is the military spec, rough
and tumble radio. While the CLS is a little more refined, it's got an LCD, etc.
Both of these radio options have some really great features. A lot of people like that
on the Military grade series, they'll have 2 watts of power, there are dozens and dozens
of frequencies so you don't have to worry about cancelling out other frequencies and
listening to people talk over CB's... things of that nature. It's also got that rugged
design, so you can drop it... probably not 150 feet, but you can drop it a few feet without
having to worry it breaking. On the CLS Series, a lot of people like that
there's actually and LCD screen, so that you can see the length of the battery life that's
left. It functions at 1.5 watts so it's a little bit less power, but if the jobs that
you're working keeps you a little closer together, you won't see a significant loss in quality.
Both of the Motorola radios have seen massive improvements over their most recent line.
The MDX Series, etc., that shows about a 30% increase in volume and a lot more voice clarity.
So, Motorola's really stepping their game up on their business class radios, at the
end of the day, either of these radios would be a great option, it just depends on what
you're looking for. All of the professional series radios from
Motorola come with a 1-year factory warranty and you should check out gmesupply.com for
some additional information on some rebates that are happening right now.
