[Mary Vaughn] I took a class on Thursday night,
took a Psychology class out here that worked very well for my schedule.
I work day shift, uh, Monday through Friday
so it's difficult to find classes that I need within the hours that I have available.
So it was very nice to be able to come out in the evening.
I heard about this facility from one of my co-workers
who was taking some classes in the spring and both of us are actually working towards our RN
so she was needing some of the same courses I did,
we decided to go ahead and come out here since I live this way.
My instructor was awesome, she makes me smile.
They're very knowledgeable, very highly recommended
to anyone that is interested in psychology.
[Phil Duncan] I've had the, uh, computer class.
It was a very in-depth course and pretty educational
on how and why computers really got started.
When I was the mayor of Belton years ago in the late '90s
that was a mission and a goal that we had to develop a college in this, uh, area
to help improve the quality of education for the county of Cass County.
--The expansion was really driven by the interest in Cass County communities.
Uh, so we had the perfect situation develop
where the Belton School District was offering the use of the Freshman Center
and we took advantage of that by offering our classes this, uhm, first time this past spring.
--I received positive feedback in regards to MCC being in Cass County, uh,
reaching out, uh, being closer to people in their homes.
Uh, people that've had every day jobs that they work 8:00 to 5:00
are now able to take college classes at night, uh,
because it is closer to their home and they've not had that opportunity in the past.
--I actually heard about MCC-Cass County through the college.
I actually have been going there for two years
and when I was planning on taking just couple classes
they suggested out here and I live out here.
My plans are to finish up this semester, next semester at Longview
and then transfer to the University of Central Missouri
and finish out my photography career.
[Jeff Williams] It was close to home which was great,
considering I only live 10 minutes away
which is closer than any other- other MCC campuses, it worked perfectly.
I took History 121.
My instructor was just really great instructor 'cause he did more than just the book work,
he kind of, and he also did a great job of relating, uh, to today's topics with past events.
The class schedule was perfect for me
because it was just one day a week, three hours, it was perfect.
--I started school 30 years ago, I think.
I met my husband, married him instead so now I decided to go back and finish.
The teachers have been good, they have not been boring, I will say that
which is very good with teachers.
I work with fifth, sixth graders up through high school.
I'm looking forward to getting my degree in psychology.
It's never too late.
