Hi. I'm Shaw Grigsby and this is a really a unique opportunity
I'm standing here looking over some farmland ... parcels of farmland
and right behind me is a sod farm that is going to be a great reservoir in the future.
It's going to be called Fellsmere Reservoir. It's right next to farm pond 13 in Stick Marsh.
World famous bass fisheries.
So this is comprised of a lot of different parcels
and what's really unique about this reservoir, Fellsmere reservoir
is that it's going to be 10,00 acres, but 2,500 of these acres
are going to be enhanced. Now that's in cooperation with the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
and the St. Johns River Water Management District.
They have spent time enhancing this ... let me show you how they've done it.
Right here just eight months ago was flat sod farm where they grow sod for houses and all that,
and what they've done is they came in here with bulldozers an backhoes
and all kinds of equipment and they sculpted it to make it an incredible ...
incredible wildlife area. They've planted trees, they've got islands
they've got ditches, they've got all kinds of humps ... neat unique features.
with over 500 acres here and another 2,000 acres of enhancements that are coming in
this lake will be around for years to come.
Great for wildlife, great for fisheries and with a stocking of a million largemouth bass
Oh my gosh I can’t wait to get down here and fish this place.
This is going to be an incredible reservoir for many years to come.
Come down and enjoy it, Fellsmere Reservoir
and I'm just so thankful that Florida Fish and Wildlife is doing it.
