Good grief! What is with this atrocity of the dying quickly nonsense?
Greetings fellow gamers, in this video you are going to see a variety of times that I
die and while some of them I just had a complete *** derp moment, a lot of these I think I
could probably do nothing about as especially when you watch the kill cam and you see that
it is soooo far removed from what is actually going on on my screen.
Is it the net code? Is it the hit boxes? Is it the lag comp? I do not know as I am not
the best person to ask that question to but what I do know is that dying quickly in this
game is a problem. It's a tricky one because you don't want the game to be one where the
enemies are soaking up bullets but you don't want a game where people are dying with one
hit as that iss what hardcore mode is for.
Call of Duty: Ghosts has this problem where the time to kill is extremely low and as I
mentioned in my review this threw me right off and suddenly I was finding myself with
scores of 2-11 and I'm thinking to myself "what! how can this be?" I'm doing decent
scores in Black Ops 2 surely Ghosts can't be that much different to previous games but
alas I was getting trashed and at first I thought it might have been the new maps but
whenever a new map pack came out for Black Ops 2 I didn't struggle that badly in them
and besides everyone was learning the new maps as well, even when I played older games
such as Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops the First I was still pulling in respectable scores
so surely that didn't excuse the amount of times I was just dying here.
Now that I've got used to the game I've gotten a little bit better in terms of my KDR going
positive but that's due to map awareness and flanking and I've noticed that I do much better
when I'm set up for stealth with perks such as Off the Grid, Incog and Blind eye. Sometimes
I use a silencer which allows me to take them down from the back but sometimes I don't and
it's those times where it is important to have good positioning and awareness as one
shot when you are taking a person down means you give away your location and then it becomes
about trying to quickly eliminate the enemy hard and fast so then you can move on to the
next position before the terrible spawning system spawns one of them close to you to
get their revenge or if you're really lucky they might spawn them right behind you so
they can just get their revenge all within the same killcam...it's happened.
Anyway I'm hoping that a patch will fix these though what I expect I'm not sure of really
come to think of it, does the game need people to have more health? Does it need to have
a slightly wonky hit detection system? I'm not actually sure but the deaths are quite
annoying at this moment but I think it'll have to be something that we just get used
to really because it seems like it is here to stay.
That being said, this is one of the many factors that has led me to be extremely disappointed
with Infinity Ward's offering of Call of Duty, Treyarch really does not have much to do to
surpass this and I believe they will rise to the challenge and we will all rejoice.
Thank you for watching this video, it is very much appreciated; take care of yourselves
and Silver Assassin out.
