Oasis montaj is Geosoft's core software platform.
Oasis montaj provides a user friendly environment that enables you to work with your 1D, 2D and 3D data.
In this video, we will be looking at an area called Jan Lake in Manitoba, Canada
where airborne magnetic, radiometric and gravity data were collected.
The geophysical survey data is loaded into Oasis montaj as a database
and displayed as both a spreadsheet and a one-dimensional profile line view.
From this data you can quickly build grids, maps and voxels.
All your profiles and maps are georeferenced according to your projected data, making it easy to link data between your profiles and maps.
Working with your data in a one-dimensional profile enables you to visualise filters as you apply them.
Using our Geophysics extension provides a variety of filters that you can apply to your data.
This enables you to take your magnetic raw data to a final filtered stage while visualizing your profiles every step of the way.
Databases support a variety of geophysical data, including: gravity, magnetic, radiometric and electromagnetic data.
Data-specific extensions such as the Gravity and Magnetic Interpretation extension
provide processing tools in a workflow specific for gravity data
In this example, we can see the Bouguer and free-air values.
With a click of a button, you can grid your survey data using a number of different gridding methods.
In addition, Oasis montaj provides a number of specialized software extensions for filtering, processing and analyzing geophysical data.
For example, using the MAGMAP Filtering extension,
you can apply filters to your geophysical data interactively and visually preview the results.
Once your data processing is complete,
you can integrate all the data and display the results in a professional looking map.
You can create maps and statistical plots for different kinds of data using a variety of visualization effects.
This example shows a ternary plot to display radiometric data.
Layers in these maps can be turned on and off and
several data types can be incorporated into one map to help you correlate your geophysical signatures together.
If you have access to Geochemistry samples, you may also incorporate these into your map.
Statistical analysis tools for geochemical data are available through our Geo chemistry extension.
Geosoft enables you to easily visualise and model your subsurface gravity and magnetic data in a 3D environment.
Let's take a look at this smaller area and visualise what this ridge looks like beneath the surface.

Here we see a three dimensional susceptibility model for this smaller area.

The voxel model is built from a voxel blocks, where the colours of the blocks represent different susceptibility values.
As I slowly peel away the voxels you can see the subsurface areas of higher susceptibility
and their correlation to the ridge we were interested in.
From the voxels I can create isosurfaces, which are three-dimensional contours that form smooth shapes that represent areas with the same data
values and are used to highlight features of interest.
You can also incorporate sections into your project space and
integrate other types of information to help you better understand your project area.
The more data that you have available, the better the three dimensional representation of your project will be.
With this demonstration we were able to show how
Oasis montaj enables you to integrate all your geophysical data in an intuitive and user-friendly environment.
