I learned how to juggle in middle school.
Had a bit of a circus phase.
I ran in high school.
And in college I've sort of moved up to focus and run half
marathons and marathons and ultra marathons.
Definitely a better runner, but I've gotten pretty good at
doing juggling at the same time, too.
I'm a bit of a show off when I juggle.
So I like to do it in concentrated, populated areas.
When I go for runs, normally I go to College Woods.
I get out of town.
I don't really run in circles around campus unless I'm
juggling, in which case I always run in
circles around campus.
The reactions I get, especially while doing it,
from people I pass, it's pretty much the
best Part of the sport.
Ooh, juggling.
Yeah!
Juggling is awesome.
Yeah, the unicycle guy is a much older tradition than I.
Rides around a lot during the spring on his
unicycle and juggles.
We haven't met actually, but I consider him my adversary.
Your arms definitely get tired.
And your upper body, your core region, gets
worked a little more.
But otherwise it's the same general form.
You don't necessarily slow down a lot even.
If you're in an official race and going for an official
time, you just go back to the spot where you dropped and
resume running and juggling from there.
A lot of people think you have to start the race over or
something, which would be horrible.
On April 16, I'm going to run the Boston
Marathon while juggling.
On May 12, one week before I graduate, I'm going to attempt
to set the Guinness world record for fastest time to
joggle 50 miles, as part of a race in Augusta, New Jersey.
I decided to try and set a Guinness world record before I
graduated, so I was looking through the official Guinness
world record book.
Came across joggling and decided that
played to my strengths.
I think people will have a lot of fun with it.
I'm definitely excited to feed off the energy of the crowd.
Generally, I'm not the center of attention type, but I've
gotten a little more accepting to it.
