Hello my friends! I'm Gustavo Martins, Kurzweil Product Specialist here in Brazil.
In today's video, I bring great news. The ARTIS Stage Piano!
Artis is a very versatile Stage Piano
It was developed considering the most demanding musicians
working on stage, at events, and in recordings
It has a new piano sample, a German Grand Piano with six dynamic layers
it also brings all of the most advanced sound design ever developed by Kurzweil
some sounds from the KORE 64 expansion
an also some sounds from the PC3K Series
Artis has two main modes: the Program Mode, and the Multi Mode
Multi is the new name of what we called Setups in the past Series
it has the same features, such as the 4 independent zones for splits and layers
Within each mode, we have 256 sounds
which gives us many possibilities, and we still have 256 User Programs and 256 User Multis
Something pretty cool is how easily we can access these sounds
Any Program or Multi can be directly accessed with just two buttons
Let me show you how easy it is to navigate on the Artis Programs and Multis
All we need is two buttons
One button for the category
and another button for the Program or Multi sound within each category
For example
If I choose the Piano 1 category in the Program Mode
I have 16 piano sounds, which are all the piano sounds avaliable within the Piano 1 Category
This applies to any category
on both Multi and Program Mode
Thus, we can access any Program or Multi with only two buttons
which makes using Artis on stage very easy and intuitive
Besides the easy access to sounds within the Program and Multi Modes,
Artis also has a Favorites Mode
It has 10 favorite buttons, that can directly access any Program or Multi
Now I will show you how to use the Favorites
See how easy it is to change the sounds using the Favorites
The Favorites mode allows up to 10 Programs or Multis
so we have 10 buttons to Favorites.
You can easily assign a Program or Multi to one of these buttons
For example: I'll press the Program Mode Button
I'll select the first piano Program, and let's say I want it assigned to the first favorite button
All I have to do is hold the first favorite button and the program is already assigned to it
Then let's say I choose a Multi to be my second Favorite sound
I hold the second favorite button
and this Multi is already assigned to the second favorite button
The same procedure can be repeated for all of the Favorites buttons
which gives us 10 sound options with very easy access
Another striking Artis feature is the complete KB3 Mode, just as in the PC3K Series
As Artis have a new hardware, the KB3 Mode processing has also been improved
and we have access to all features of the best electromechanical organs, such as Hammond B3, Vox and Farfisa
I'll show you a little of the KB3
I have here a Hammond sound
These nine sliders (Drawbars) work just like in an electromechanic organ
So, if I move all sliders up, we have no sound
As I pull down the sliders, we have more and more Hammond's harmonics
We also have some controls that bring more variation to the sounds
such as Key Click, chorus, vibrato...
and all necessary features to simulate an electromechanic organ
which is pretty cool.
Another interesting thing is that for any changes you make in the drawbars
the save button's LED will turn on, which means you've made a change in a factory program
so, if you wish, you can store this new sound you've created by changing a factory preset
Another Artis feature is
is one related to all controls
As it has nine sliders related to KB3 Mode
the same sliders are also related to other functions
within the Programs and Multis, which can be customized by the user
to control any MIDI parameter
making Artis a powerful MIDI Controller too.
To bring more versatility to everyday usage,
Kurzweil has developed a unique equalizer
to which the player has real-time access during live presentations
Let's see how it works.
Now I will show you how the Master EQ works
It acts on Artis audio output.
I'll play a demo song and explain it to you
Here we go.
There are four EQ knobs
The first on is for high frequencies and the second one is for mid frequencies
The third one controls the band of Mid Frequency
and this is the bass control ***
Let's hear the equalizer operating
If I increase the treble
or decrease
Now I'm changing the Mid frequency
highlighting it a little bit, and now frequency band is centralized
I can move it forward
or backward
and here I control the low frequency
increasing and decreasing it
This is a great feature
because sometimes, at concerts and other events
the venue's equalization is not good enough
so we can have full control of the keyboard's equalization
If you don't need it, you can turn it off here.
There is so much more to talk about this equipment
but our time today is over.
