LG Optimus L3 II, L5 II and L7 II.
Coming soon.
We covered the new LG Optimus L Series II a few days ago, and now we have some more
technical details of these attractive but inexpensive Android smartphones.
In LG's own words: Each 3G phone's subtle yet bold aesthetics are representative of
LG's unmistakable design DNA. Surpassing the beauty of the first L Series, the Optimus
LII Series were developed around four new design elements: Seamless Layout, Laser Cut
Contour, Radiant Rear Design and a home button with Smart LED Lighting.
LG Optimus L7 II. The top of the range device is the LG Optimus
L7 II which features a 1GHz dual-core CPU, 768MB of RAM with 4GB of onboard flash storage
plus a microSD slot, a 4.3" 480 x 800 pixel IPS touchscreen display, an 8 megapixel primary
camera with a 0.3 megapixel secondary one and a 2460 mAh battery. The Optimus L7 II
runs Android 4.1.
The Optimus L7 II is available in dual-SIM (P715) or single-SIM versions, and measures
122 x 67 x 9.7mm. The dual-SIM version looks rather more rounded and is available in Russia
and some other markets right now, the prices we have seen for that are around €260 which
is quite a lot more expensive than the current €190 street price for the existing L9.
LG Optimus L5 II. The middle of the range L Series II device
is the LG Optimus L5 II. This comes with a smaller 4.0" 480 x 800 pixel screen, a 1GHz
single-core processor, 512MB of RAM plus 4GB of built-in flash plus a microSD slot. On
the back is a 5 megapixel camera. The L5 II also runs Android 4.1.
The Optimus L5 II measures 118 x 62 x 9.2mm, comes with a 1700 mAh battery and ships in
a single-SIM and dual-SIM version, the current version retails for around €140.
LG Optimus L3 II. The baby of the range is the Android 4.1-based
LG Optimus L3 II, which is actually a very big step down from the L5 II. With a 3.2"
240 x 320 pixel panel, a single-core 1GHz processor with 512GB of RAM and 4GB of onboard
flash (with a microSD slot) and a 3.0 megapixel camera the Optimus L3 II might be a bit too
basic for many customers.
Inside is a 1540 mAh battery, and the LG Optimus L3 II comes in both dual-SIM and single-SIM
versions, measuring 103 x 61 x 11.9mm. We don't know how much it wil cost, but the current
Optimus L3 retails for about €90.
These three devices probably won't set the world on fire, but the previous generation
of L Series phones did sell very strongly. As long as LG can keep the price down, then
the L Series II might be similar success.
