I'm Grilled Bears, and I'm going to seek out some of the most extreme challenges in the
most dangerous secondary program known to man: the middle year program. Where having
the right survival skills decides the difference between sanity and insanity. I've come 5th
year of the middle year program, the deadliest and most brutal among all grades in the MYP.
3500 words for the personal project report, 8 subjects and a plethora of moderations guaranteed
to kill your brain cells and leave you permanently disfigured for the rest of your lives.
Every year people try to pass it, scorched by some of the most work in the world.
It is going to my biggest challenge yet. In one of the most inhospitable places on earth.
I'm being dropped off into grade 10, and one of the first things you can do is get into
the correct mindset. Remember, this is not a sprint, its a long distance marathon. Endurance
is the key to survival.
Perfect! this is just what I need. This is a penberry. It's a wild species. And It's
very rare, but...
What are you doing?
Shut up! Anyway, this is vital to your survival in the DP. because every single assessment
is handwritten. none of them would be typed anymore. This is just perfect. I got to bring
this back.
It's getting dark soon, remember to sectionalize and prioritize your workload to allow for
maximum efficiency and minimum agony. If you don't, you won't be able to find shelter,
like I have right here.
You know your pen can be used to pick locks. Very useful. I think there's something inside
I might want to check out. Come on, follow me.
I think I spotted a rare sub-species of humans called *** sapiens ludus, otherwise known
as the game addict. This subspecies has a mutualistic symbiotic relationship with another
species called the Laptopsium mactintoshium otherwise as the macbook. Common symptoms
include irritability, lack of responsiveness, and pure addiction. Let's see if I can get
a closer look.
We've been spotted, let's get out of here!
Ha! Classic example! Another method I like to use is called the pomodoro method. Basically
you have a timer and you time/sectionalize your workload into 45 minute working periods,
followed by 15 minute rest periods. Remember its important that you use a timer, because
this ensures you have a goal to work towards, and you won't dilly-dally around all day.
Oh no we've been spotted! Hurry up and find shelter, or we may not live to see tomorrow!
But remember, if a friend falls over, do not help him up. Laugh at him, stomp on his books.
Anything to make you happy in order to survive the MYP.
Join me next time, while I trek to more exotic places around the planet, namely the Sodexho
Kitchen.
