Hi it's Day 11 and I almost forgot to do this video. I thought oops, ok, I'd better come
downstairs where the lighting is a little bit better and tell you about my day today.
Well, I finally went food shopping and got a load...
Hang on.. didn't I do that yesterday or today?
No, I went food shopping yesterday! Oh my god! *laughs*
Ok, what did I do today? Oh, I went to hot yoga, that's what I did this morning. Jeez...
yeah.
Let's hope my memory improves by the end of this 21 day challenge. Ahhh..
Yes. I went back to hot yoga today, so it's the first time I've been to class since last
week and I went three times last week. And ohhh, it was tough in the beginning.
How was it today? Well today actually.. I mean, always with a yoga practise, even with
hot yoga when you're doing the same poses every time. It's different every single time.
And you know, you're reaching further, concentrating more on your pose and your breathing and your
balance and, you know, holding yourself straighter and just, it felt really good today and already,
even though it's my fourth class back, I'm seeing improvements.
So if you're in the Brighton area at all, get yourself to Dynamic Yoga (http://DynamicYoga.tv),
which is just at the back of Hove station. Brilliant classes, run by a lovely guy called
Stuart Tranter and a great team.
Stuart does still take a lot of the classes himself but he's got a great team of teachers
as well, who do classes. And I had the lovely Sasha today, or Basher, as Stuey calls her.
She's great - amazing, so bendy! And one day, that will be me ;)
I keep telling myself, the day I can go into half tortoise and keep my bum on my feet,
will be a day I rejoice. I just can't do it. I don't know if it's because my hips are too
tight or my.. I've got no idea. Anyway. One day it will happen. I'm certain of it.
So the rest of the day, what have I been doing? I've just been doing work bits and pieces,
trying to get hold of my son to see how his first day at college went but he is not responding
to me as usual.
My daughter is in Tenerife at the moment, so I Skyped with her the other night and she'll
be back on Friday, so hopefully I'll see her at the weekend.
So, with regards to food, I've been back on the juices and smoothies with a *** today
and this evening I have to confess, I was sat there. My sister was sat next to me on
the sofa, eating pizza. I was inhaling that pizza smell! I had a good look at the pizza.
And we sat there and she ate pizza and we watched The Hairy Bikers cooking food.
And you know, they were cooking duck. And I don't eat red meat but I was looking at
that duck and looking at the crispy bacon on top of that duck and the gravy they made
and I was slobbering!
But after that we watched a very, soporific I suppose is a kind word, soporific programme
about harvesting fruit and vegetables in the UK. And, yes. I mean, it was sort of interesting
but sort of, it's made me ready to go to bed, as you can probably tell.
I did get an email back from one website today about delivering fruit and veg. It's not organic
but it's local grown stuff, so I'm not sure. I might give them a try. The guy said he'll
be able to supply me with most things I eat.
I tend to eat a lot of lettuce, and umm, yeah a lot of lettuce because I've got hypothyroid.
I have to avoid cruciferous vegetables. I mean, I do eat them some of the time but it's
like I had kale in a smoothie and, do you know what, it's just normally I can eat kale
fine but, it was just, I don't know. My body was just saying no, don't have it. I had to
put extra fruit in it to be able to down it. I thought, maybe I'm just meant to not eat
it for a bit.
So, I'm eating loads of lettuce and I have got spinach as well but I'm avoiding cabbage
and things like that.
I tell you what I am going to have to try, which, you know I shouldn't because I think
it's cruciferous.. is brussell sprouts - somebody told me to try juicing them (I think it was
my brother, Alex), as apparently they are quite sweet. So I may give that a go and let
you know what I think.
That's enough for today. I will go to sleep now and I hope you're doing great and I'd
