Is there one "unusual" bar where you like to go in Berlin?
- Well there are many.
There's one place in particular
where they play both disco and classical music.
That's rather rare. It's called the Watergate.
It's a club on the Spree river.
It's right in the middle of the city, where you can still see
pieces of the Wall that they kept for the tourists.
It's a trendy place with pieces of the Wall...
We see them all the time, but tourists enjoy
having their photo taken there and touching those relics.
- Have you ever played in that club?
- Yes, I have!
It's very fashionable. It's the place to be.
They have lots of concerts, mostly chamber music, surprisingly.
Many young people go,
people who don't normally go to classical concerts.
It's a special atmosphere, with many breaks in the program.
There's a little pier on the river, people go out to drink and chat.
It's a lot of fun, very relaxed. It's like nothing else.
Berlin has various organizations that try...
to build bridges with new audiences.
It's a very active scene, really interesting.
It's not like Montreal, with its 125-year old concert institutions.
