Today I want to talk about pedestrian or bicycle accidents. What I mean by that
is people who are hit by
a car whether you're walking or you're on your bike.
The best thing you can do to protect yourself,
and I live in the heart of Denver so I live in the city and I see this all
the time,
is if you're crossing the street - whether on a bike or in a car -
make sure you have eye contact with the driver of the car
because if they don't see you, you should assume they'll just run you over.
So you've got to make sure before you cross that street that you have eye contact. The other
thing is, believe it or not, your auto insurance, if you have it,
your underinsured motorist coverage or your medical payment coverage can cover
you in this situation. So if you're crossing the street on the way to work
and you get hit while you're walking,
your medical payment coverage will pay for your ER visit or any other doctor
visits. Your underinsured motorist coverage would kick in if a driver who
hit you doesn't have enough insurance. If you have any questions about how to
prevent accidents
or what kind of insurance to use
please give me a call.
