Hey guys, this is EliteAirTv
Hey guys, this is EliteAirTtv
and today I'll just be doing an overview of the KJW
P226
P226
Let's just get on with the review, alright first of all, external-wise
it has the trades which are very nice the disappointment is where it says
caliber six millimeter - made in Taiwan
which you know
I don't really mind it too much but
If they didn't have those it would've been a little bit, you know, better
On this is it says Sig Sauer P226
these look like
they feel as though they're not really, they're just sorta like printed on
so
I question how long they will last even this is an old pistol
On the grip it says P226 as well, and then on this side it says Sig Sauer so
right side Sig Sauer
left side P226
The grip sort of uh- the texture of it sort of looks like a Magpul grip
you know the texture's style but
the
the surface of the plastic is
very smooth
it really doesn't create any friction
which is, you know
which is a little disappointing you know I wish it would have, you know, more
mhm. Yeah
so it doesn't really, the Magpul grip
is a lot more-
creates a lot more friction and a lot more comfortable
also I don't know if this is just with me but
how I hold the gun I just don't really think
I'm not sure if I'm holding it correctly or what
but I just don't really like the comfort I feel like
my bone right here sort of rubs, like if they made a little bit more of an
you know indent it would contour to
people's hands better
I'm not sure if that's just with my hands or
that's just how I grip it
The mag
is all metal
Holds, not exactly sure I believe in the, you know
high twenty area
high twenty's
BB count
and
I believe that you can either load it in through there or at the end
Just make sure you don't release this
You could accidentally release this so be careful
cuz the lip is made of plastic and its very
thin, so that's a con
When I got this gun, the mag was leaky when I got it used
So what I did was I popped out the two pins
removed this and I put some Teflon Tape
I'm not sure exactly if it's missing the o-ring since I don't have green gas
I didn't really shoot it yet
But I've basically been working on it to get it in working order so when I do have green gas
it'll work
Yeah
So the trades are, you know,
pretty nice
has a lot of buttons on this side you can see you got your decocker
which you can see, for some reason it doesn't engage when I rack the slide back and
do it that way I have to manually pull it back
for it to actually work so I don't
For it to actually work
so I don't know if that's just with my pistol, cuz it's not supposed to
function that way I don't think
when you're
you're using it to, you know,
there's no safety especially since this is the older one
on the trigger
The trigger is metal
but the
one thing I don't like about that is it feels nice, pretty much the gun
feels solid
there's a little wobble
in the upper but not much
is the paint I don't know what they're thinking it's like extremely
shiny if it was more of a matte color
Like you could see that shine of it
if it was more of a matte color I think it would be better
You could see the previous owner
sanded this and the outer barrel
which is sort of nice cuz it
it makes it cycle better
it doesn't have that paint in there
yeah that needs to be worked in a little bit
The hammer cuz what I did was before it would catch all the time
and you couldn't just push it forward
it would literally catch on the lower part around here
show you that
to pop off the side you can see it's quite simple, you just
sort of move this switch it almost feels like it's electric
Not electric, heh it feels like it's spring loaded
and you wanna make sure your mag is out when you're doing this
but you see right around here it was basically
catching on these two
you know metal
ends, it was catching
and what you would have to do is actually pull the hammer down
while the slide was back for it to
work, so that was one thing I would fix. The owner said it would randomly work, so
this also what I did for performance-wise is I sanded some of the
black paint down
and this basically just improves
the
cycle, how it cycles it cycles more smoothly
and the hammer problem, what I did was I sanded that down
but I'm not sure if it's just cuz my hammer doesn't go back all the way
cuz I heard some people do have this problem
but you can see what I did was
I basically
sanded it down and then I,
with the file,
and then i took like some, you know
some not really, you know, some
sand paper with a fine grid
to, you know, smooth it down so
it doesn't catch as much and I have no idea why it wasn't catching in the video
but I'm sure when I'm not
doing this video it won't catch
You can see I sanded down the other stuff, I really took the frame apart
it's pretty simple
Your mag release, you know,
pretty much everything here's mechanical, how it operates
You can see your mag
Go with the upper this is pretty simple to disassemble
Then again I smoothed in some of the internal parts
Here you got your recoil spring
which this just sort of pops out
with your guide I don't know the exact technical names of everything
I'm pretty new to this whole gas
thing. Then you slide this out
and you got there
and that's pretty much it. Here's your nozzle and stuff, I'm not exactly sure how to take that out.
There is a little
screw back here I removed it but I wasn't sure, I didn't want to break anything
and I thought this nozzle is actually broken on the end but looking in the
other things
it's actually meant to be sort of curved like that
so that was good cuz I didn't feel like buying another one
So I basically did all these modifications so I didn't have to buy
parts and it still functioned fine
Another thing, I'll talk about the barrel
so this was polished you know it helps it cycle a little bit better
and you have your hop up here
which is
from what I heard the recoil of the gun causes this to
you know, de-hop itself
just automatically
But I did do some, you know
modifications, I guess you could say
to it. I did do some
modifications, I cleaned out the barrel first of all
then what I did
was the bucking
that end of the barrel sort of had this rust but it sort of wiped off
and in the bucking there was
tons of that
there's probably still a little bit left
and it's almost like rust, so I'm pretty sure that didn't help with accuracy
at all.
So what I did was I made sure I cleaned that out really well
and then what else I id was the floss mod - you could check out one of
the big techs, I'm pretty sure they did a video on it
So you can check that out
It's pretty cool, just look up Floss Mod on YouTube
and you basically take dental floss
you tie it around the bucking, this can be used with AEG's, and they didn't
really try it on gas pistols, but this is what I'm doing
I tried it, I did it to my AEG and basically what it does
is rap floss around it and sort of makes this knot type of thing
and it basically wraps around it so it's putting pressure on the bucking so it
gets a better seal and then it's also sealing in with the hopup
better
so basically in the end you just get a better seal
and more performance
so I'm glad that worked out and I'll see if actually works out when I test it but
you could see
the bucking sticking out the end
also
the barrel only ends about here, which I wish they used the full length
so that's pretty much the overview to put it back you just put that in place
you slide this spring in place
and one of the problems I had was
if you see the hopup how it goes into into that outer barrel,
I had that keep popping out so
I'm going to have to glue it down again cuz that's what's causing it to catch
See that just locks in
You slide this in
Not exactly sure why this is not working
all right guys, I'll figure that out later
but this is EliteAir
Tv
I hope you enjoyed the video, and bye.
