San Francisco Giants were in for a spooky heroes welcome with their World Series champions
victory parade coinciding with Halloween.
Tens of thousands of people decked out in the team's appropriate orange and black colours.
Giants Manager Bruce Bochy, who hoisted the World Series trophy from the back of a gold
Rolls Royce during most of the procession, credited fans and his players' "unselfish
play" for helping to lift San Francisco to its second World Series victory in three years,
an improbable double play for a franchise that had not won the title since 1954.
The players were quick to thank for fans for their support.
"You guys better be proud. You need to be proud. And I tell you this for dang sure we
are all World Series Champions wearing orange and black here in San Francisco and that's
what's up."
Children who were allowed to skip school squeezed cap-to-glove alongside older couples who had
been Giants fans since the team arrived in San Francisco from New York in 1958.
