Every Saturday my wife takes our kids to the library
and they come home with a stack books for the week.
and that a good thing.
Not just because its free,
but because it teaches them responsibility.
When you borrow something from someone,
you have to take care of it.
But I also view it as my responsibility
to give them the tools they need in order to be successful.
and that includes a place for them to put those books.
All right... even with the right tools.
No one is perfect.
The sides of the book bin will be angled at the top and bottom, so I'll mark those out
I need two pieces for the back of the book bin and one for the shelf.
All the same length.
Now I want three rail pieces for the front
all about three quarters of an inch wide.
cut those to length.
I want daddos to connect the front rail pieces to the sides,
so spray adhesive allows me to stick the sides together while I make those cuts.
I've got the three daddos cut in both sides, now I'll mark for some biscuit slots.
Ok, now I'm going to clamp... ohh you know what I'm doing.
Hey I did a pretty good job at cutting those daddos.
Ok I spoke to soon.
A key hole bit in the router will give me a seem less way to mount the book bin on the wall.
Some blue tape.
Lower the book bin down on the bit against the router fence.
Then pull it back towards me till the bottom of the back stretcher reaches the blue tape.
Nice and easy.
Now just rinse and repeat.
Mounted neatly behind the bedroom door.
Now they have a place for all their library books and their backpacks.
