I'm Frankie, and this is my dad.
He's taught me so many things,
like how to make these eggs.
he's also taught me how important it is to recycle.
He makes sure we recycle everything,
and put them in the right boxes. We know to put paper separate from the containers.
That's why we use two Blue Boxes.
There's the recycling truck!
And there's my dad's newspaper.
There goes our recyclables! Paper goes in one compartment of the truck,
and containers go in the other.
When the truck is all full, the driver bring to the recycling centre in London.
Then it unloads all the recyclables onto the floor.
All that paper is just from one day!
Then the paper get all mixed together on the floor. There's my dad's newspaper again.
Then the loader operator starts to feed it onto the conveyor line.
This is one of the paper sort lines, where my dad's newspaper will get separated from other paper,
like cardboard.
There it goes!
Here are the finish bales of paper.
The paper bales are loaded up into the transport trailers and shipped to different paper
mills in Ontario,
and beyond! To be made into future paper products. We're on our way to Brantford
to see how these paper bales will be recycled.
Welcome to Hartmann, where old newspapers from London will be made into new stuff
First they make a wet pulp
of the paper and remove anything that doesn't belong. The pulp is dried over a mould
and becomes.. ta-da! An egg carton! Recycling is good for the environment new stuff
from old
means less energy and water and fewer greenhouse gases are produced.
Recycle and buy products made from recycled materials.
