Hi everyone, in today's tutorial we will see together
how to do this amigurumi "lucky horn"
we will see how to develop the horn
and how to make the upper crown
work is quick and easy to do
just need a little patience at the beginning
because we will start with a few stitches
and a little attention at the end
for the realization of the crown
because we will use the stitches that normally
in the amigurumi technique are not used
I used it to make a key ring
but you can do whatever you want with this lucky horn
and now let's start with the tutorial
you will need:
two-color thin cotton yarn a pair of pliers,
scissors, a wool needle, a key ring,
some cotton wool to fill,
and a 1.75mm or 2mm hook
with the red yarn, create a magic ring
Round 1: 4sc
pull the initial yarn to close the magic circle
we will work in a spiral
so I suggest you mark the beginning of the round
with a marker or a yarn
Round 2: 1inc 3sc (5)
be patient, the work is small and there are few stitches
Round 3: 1inc 4sc (6)
Round 4: 1double inc = (3sc in the same stitch)
2sc,
1dec,
1sc
Round 5: 1sc, 1double inc, 2sc, 1dec, 1sc, (8)
Round 6: 6sc, 1inc, 1sc (9)
Round 7: 2sc, 1dec, 3sc, 1inc, 1sc, (9)
Round 8: 2sc, 1dec, 3sc, 2inc (10)
Round 9: 3sc, 1dec, 3sc, 2inc (11)
Round 10: 1inc, 4sc, 1dec, 4sc (11)
Round 11: 2inc, 4sc, 1dec, 3sc (12)
Round 12: 2inc, 4sc, 1dec, 4sc (13)
Rounds 13-14: 2sc, 1inc, 5sc, 1dec, 3sc (13)
Rounds 15-17: 13sc (13)
when you have finished the 17th round
fill with cotton wool
being a very tight job, to insert the wadding
helped with the hook or a pen or a stick
so you can fill well up to the tip of the horn
and now let's continue
Round 18: (1dec, 1sc)x4 1ss (9)
chain 1 and cut the yarn
we remove the marker
the horn is finished
now we make the part of the crown with the yellow yarn
work an initial node
starting from the first stitch
insert the hook between one point and the next
the hook passes under the chains
work a ss to secure the yarn
Round 1: ch1
1sc at each stitch
working as we hooked the yarn, between the stitches
work 9sc
close the round with a ss in the first stitch of the round
with a needle, hide the yarn tails through the work
Round 2: ch1,
1sc
in the same stitch 1fpdc = (Front Post Double Crochet)
1sc in next stitch
and repeat [(1sc 1fpdc), 1sc] all the way around
close the round with a ss in the first stitch of the round
Round 3: ch1
(1sc, 1fpsc, skip 1stitch)x4
(expands the work to see the stitches well)
(1sc, 1fpsc, skip 1stitch)x4
this round ends with 8 stitches
ch7
and cut a long yarn
patiently, insert a little cotton wool into the crown
and with the needle we close the work
usually to close the hole we start from the first stitch
in this case we begin to close from the 4th stitch
just take the half-outer chain
of the 8 stitches on the last lap
pull the yarn
sew, with a stitch
the opening of the last round
make a knot
and hide the yarn
with the pliers
open the last element of the chain
insert the crown buttonhole
and close
and our "lucky horn" is ready
I'm very satisfied with the result
I like it
I like the crown and the shape of the horn
and I hope you like it too :-)
as an alternative to this type of finish
I also propose this
the red part is the same as the first one
after having worked the 18th round with the red yarn
I hooked the green color, with a normal color change
and I worked
round 19: (1sc 1dec)x3 (6)
round 20: 3dec (3)
I worked 6 chains to make the buttonhole
I closed with a knot and I hid the yarn
so we have 2 alternatives
for the lucky horn
which one do you prefer?
