Hi everyone, it’s Larissa from Frugalicious, and this is the Deal of the
Day.
It’s Monday, Happy Monday, time for another Mission Frugalicious!
I got an email from Leigh, who lives in Tucson, AZ, wrote me - she’s
shopping for a new digital camera. Her car was unfortunately broken into
and her camera was stolen - we’re so sorry Leigh, and we’re here to help!
So Leigh is interested in a point and shoot digital camera, her old one was
a canon powershot and she really liked it.
So I started at Costco, and they have several Canons that are reasonably
priced, and I settled on the PowerShot SD1400. You definitely want one with
a rechargeable battery so you’re not always messing around with replacing
those double AAs - extra cost too! Costco has it for $189. But I thought I
could do better.
So I did a quick search, and found it online at PhotoCraft.com for $169.
There’s no tax, but shipping is $13, bringing the price to $182. Not bad.
Well did you know that Best Buy offers competitor price matching? It’s
super easy, just go into your local store and show them the price either in
a print ad or online - they’ll even look it up online for you, and they
will honor that price. So if you go into your local Best Buy and show them
the price PhotoCraft.com is offering, they will sell you that camera for
that price.
I also checked out GiftCardGranny.com - and found several Best Buy gift
cards for sale at under face value. If you use one of these gift cards to
make your purchase Leigh you’ll save at least an additional 5%, making your
total cost for the camera around $160. Not bad!
