My name is Ryan Hendriksen; I’m from Santa Rosa, CA and also Las Vegas, NV. My main purpose
of this class is possibly starting a mobile business but my main purpose is cost effectiveness
on the current business I have. Currently, I’m subcontracting out quite a bit of money
every month in overhead for our fleet of vehicles being detailed. Now, we’ll have the opportunity
to do that in-house and save a bunch of money. My trainers name is Ruben, really informative
information. Coming from owning a business myself and being in the car business already,
thinking I knew a lot but there’s also room to learn more which I did. It was a small
group, a small group, but there was a lot of tutorials and also one-on-one. It was really
hands-on. We learned on the black panel which is the most difficult. If you can do a good
job on black, that’s the best to train on and that’s what we did.
It was good from going to beginning to end. There were more parts of the car that was
exciting for me, I was more interested in the exterior, polishing, and compound, and
wax. As far as the products and stuff that were used I was familiar with products but
I wasn’t familiar with how they worked and what was involved in the chemistry of the
products. So in that instance, I’m able to explain better to the customer why this
product is good for their vehicle and what it exactly it does as opposed to just doing
the job. I feel much more comfortable and confident leaving and detailing my cars.
Not only are you coming here to learn how to detail but they also teach you a little
of the business end of how to run a business pertaining to the automotive industry and
how to market it and how to advertise and what’s most cost effective. I came with
a basic understand of automotive detail and now I leave with the ability to think I can
pursue it on a professional level.
