The problem really is finding enough organs for all the people
that are desperately in need of transplants. We are very short
of organ donors. Unfortunately, the need for organ donors is
growing exponentially. While the number of donated organs has
increased over the past decade, the need for donated organs as
well as the number of people on the transplant waiting list
has expanded dramatically. Today, over 100,000 people are
currently waiting for a transplant. That's equivalent to
filling every seat in Yankee Stadium, twice, With people
waiting for a healthy organ to become available. So many
lives can be saved or enhanced by each family that chooses
donation. It's important now more than ever to talk with
your family, regardless of age, health, race or religion.
And share your wishes with organ donation, it's a selfless
gift; a gift of life.
