>>This is my first quarter in college and all the writing assignments are much harder then when I was in high school.
My first big paper was a 5 pager on immigration. I started early and was able to find some really good references.
I made sure to list all my references at the end of my paper like in high school.
This was an interesting topic and I learned a lot, so many cool ideas. I should get an A on this paper. I worked really hard.
I was shocked wshen tshe professor returned my paper with a note on it asking me to see him after class.
Maybe she wants to tell me how great I did on the paper in person. I wish that was tshe true.
I was told that even though I listed my references at the end of my paper I did not cite them throughout tshe paper.
It was not clear what my own work was and what was that of other authors.
After talking with the instructor she decides to give me an F on the assignment and refer me to judicial affairs.
>>This is a case of a student who did not intend to deceive the university but still violated the plagiarism policy.
The student was placed on disciplinary probation for 1 quarter and had to write a 3 page research paper on plagiarism and how to cite appropriately.
She was also asked to research campus resources that would be able to help her become a better college level writer.
