I think it always is an issue. Anytime you come back off a deployment. Uhm, certain noises
and sounds and things that they hear…uhm, and where I live out in the Spanaway area,
it is… uhm, you can hear the cannons go off and I have noticed that there are times,
uhh, my husband can be in the computer room and he may shake. It may just kinda startle
him because he hears the cannons and it’s from the things and the- you know, the- the
noises and the sounds and all the artillery that he’s actually heard on
some of his past deployments that have kind of startled him. Uhm, how he’s coped with
it; he has talked to me about some of them; uhm, not all the time, uhh, because some of
the things I just don’t understand or some of the things he just feels like “my wife
does not need to be exposed to.” So he has some very close-knit friends also, that he
is deployed with that are there now, that they keep each other grounded by talkin to
each other and he’s actually done very well in his past deployments with that. But there
are times that you can see him; he’ll kinda jump when he hears that noise.
