Hello my name is Andrew Campbell, welcome to AC Silver.
This large, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver six light candelabrum/centrepiece
is quite a magnificent example.
It has a naturalistic, interlacing, fruiting vine form, it sits to a large and impressive
spreading base.
This base is ornamented with a fine cast applied vine style border to the shaped lower rim,
accented with scroll bordered grape and leaf designs.
It is supported by three exceptional, fine and impressive, large chased ornamented acanthus
leaf feet, accented with graduating bead decoration.
To one side of the base there is a very imposing bright cut engraved coat of arms.
The main column of the centrepiece has a fine and impressive interlacing vine form encircled
with fruiting vine decoration to the upper and lower portions.
The centrepiece retains the original hallmarked arms, these arms retain the original push
fit hallmarked sconces.
The arms are held in place by the original receiver, this has further grape and vine
decoration, is original and hallmarked.
The receiver retains the original cut glass centre bowl.
All the decoration to this centrepiece is very crisp and sharp.
At a weight of 158 troy ounces it is an excellent gauge of silver.
The piece has exceptional proportions and would sit very well to any centre table or
sideboard.
It is certainly the finest of its type, I have been able to have in stock.
Certainly the highlighted features of this quite magnificent centrepiece make it one
that could be sold with my highest recommendations.
