Hi guys, it’s me Moritz from Low Ready.
For the last one and a half years
we’ve been traveling across the country to bring you
he best videos of Shows, Manufacturers and Events from the World of Sport shooting, hunting and military
With this episode we’ve finally come home -
right into our very own studio.
That was actually pretty loud.
From here, we will introduce you to exciting new products such as Guns,
Gear and Outdoor Stuff.
And all the other stuff we think is cool.
Let's go
Today, we’ll start with
The new version of the canadian Black Creek Laboratories
102 in .the caliber .308
Last seen at IWA in January, now already in our studio.
Who says, the only things that come from Canada are maple sirup and Nickelback.
The Black Creek Lanoratories 102 is a classic Black Rifle in .308
with a direct impingement gas operation system. and belongs to AR10 Family
While the mainstream always seems to shout for more AR15 rifles, .
some of you may find it interesting to know
that the AR10 is actually the ancestor of the AR15
Originally, the first prototypes of the AR10 were built by Eugene Stoner in 30-06.
Then, the whole thing was fitted for .308
and eventually shifted to the more popular caliber .223 …
And then called AR15.
From there, it went back to .308 and the AR10 was produced for the market.
Since then, the AR10 - Also known as R25 in the US Military -
is the best friend of anyone who
wants a bigger caliber without giving up the comfortable ergonomics
or handling of a classic AR15.
Or, for everyone who’s into the heavy ladies.
Right, honey ?
Out of the box, every new BCL 102 owner will smile at the sight of what already comes along with this rifle.
Such as a modern M-Lock handguard
that not only allows for a firm grip
but is also supposed to be more stable than a keymod handguard due the more spread out openings.
Also included, an integrated mag funnel.
The modern concept of ambidextrous usability
also found its way into the BCL. Not only left handed shooters
will appreciate a double sided bolt catch release button, safety and charging handle.
double sided safety
and ambidextrous charging handle.
pew pew pew
To prevent confusion in more stressing situations,
the Canadians came up with a clever and simple solution:
Mag release and Bolt-Catch release button are textured differently.
Smart!
The milspec buffertube is topped off with the durable Schmeisser-Germany Buttstock.
which can be shifted into six different positions
Schmeisser, aren’t those the guys with the AR15 made in Germany?
Exactly, Waffen Schumacher equips the BCL
not only with a better buttstock
but also with the great Schmeisser Dynamic Drop-in trigger,)
which breaks precisely at 4.08 lb (1.850 Gramm)
pretty awesome
By the way, besides the ultra fast reset,
this trigger also comes with another nice feature.
In contrast to most milspec triggers, you can actually put the safety on without having to *** the gun first.
Also makes for relaxed faces on the range.
The 18.5 Inch or 47 cm long fluted barrel comes with a 1:10 twist.
Hunters will appreciate the suppressor ready muzzle with a 5/8x24 thread.
This many features and ruggedness puts some weight on the scale.
Since this platform hast to be build more massively to work reliably with the stronger .308
this Canadian Beauty weighs about 9 lb. without optics or montage
Heavy girl
Alright, while others would be done now, we are just getting ready.
Everybody who knows me also knows that talking about guns is fun, but shooting is even more
So let's head to the range
Ha! Mobile studio! Nice!
At the range we'll feed the BCL 102
today with three different kinds of ammunition
starting with cheap and easy PPU in 145 grain
the following with the sellier & bellot in 147 grain
and then topping it off
with remington match in 168 grain
let's see what we'll get
.308 has to advantages compared to .233
First, it brings a lot more energy into the target
secondly, it can do so at far longer distances
since we are limited to shooting at max 50 meters (about 50 yards)
we'll just shoot at, you guessed it, smaller targets
therefore i've chosen two targets. First we'll use a dot torture drill target
We'll start up here with the cheap ammo and ...
will work our way down here with the match ammo with three shots per circle
if the groups get smaller, as I hope
well shoot some more on a scaled up version of a dot drill target
the dot drill speaks the truth, as they say
And at the end for some action, we'll shoot at a delta drill target at 25 meters (about 25 yards)
and up we go
At the end of a sweaty range day
you can see it in my face, I'm exhausted - let's look at the results
I started up here for warm up
then shot the PPU ammo up here in 143 grain
my best group is actually with the sellier & bellot
and then down here the Remington Match ammo ... well
unfortunately we had to skip the dot drill
but we had fun with the delta drill which is actually not so easy at 25 yards
I recommend practicing. Not only you but also for myself
enough from me, back to the studio
We've had a lot of fun.
If you’ve had already an AR15 in your hands, you will feel right at home with the BCL 102.
The Canadians present an out of the box rifle that is equally rugged and fine.
Also thanks to the Schmeisser-Germany upgrades. an ambidextrous design, a modern M-Lock handguard,
integrated jetfunnel, and great trigger, you get a great package.
Right now at Waffen Schumacher for 2.250 €.
Nice!
Thank you guys, that’s it already from us in our new studio.
We hope that you’ve liked this episode and we would be very happy if you
would tune in next time as well.
So long, stay safe!
