Paulette: We had been separated for almost 6 years. When we came to TWOgether Pittsburgh,
we had just gotten back together and finished up a very intense marriage counseling.
Monroe: Working together on your marriage is the main thing for me. If there's any problems,
you have to work it out. Folks are quick to give it up and be done with it.
Paulette: TWOgether Pittsburgh taught us how to deal with the problems and how to work
through them. The marriage counseling didn't do that. I'm not a person that deals with
conflict, so it's given me personal skills on how to deal ... They gave us coping mechanisms
on how to deal with it in the workbooks and worksheets and the acting out different scenarios.
It played a big part for me. Monroe: If there's any problems, we're dealing
with it now. We're not going to wait until tomorrow, an hour later or next week; we're
doing it now. That's what TWOgether Pittsburgh basically taught us. It's just to deal with,
talk things out and to work together. Paulette: All we went through to get to where
we are now, as painful as it was, has been worth every trip. It has been worth it.
