This is the freezing fair, Conxemar,
that takes place every year in Vigo,
it's the biggest fair of frozen sea products in the world.
One of the main aspects of any investigation project
is spreading their final results,
and Conxemar has always been a great forum where all kind of treating, valuating industries
come to show their latest advances.
We believe it's a very important forum
where we can show the results of projects such as FAROS,
show our achievements,
and the benefits and advantages for the fishery within FAROS Project.
The Port of Vigo is partner of FAROS Project.
In every aspect about discards, Project FAROS is a priority for the Port Authority,
with the goal in mind of using those catches
that would usually be discarded for other products,
and to get that, the Authority puts in touch
the fishing companies, the shipowners, with the investigators,
so that together they can reduce the amount of discards
and find a commercial use for them, and profit for the companies and the shipowners.
Investigation is very important for fishery,
that's why we participate in projects that improve efficiency
and commercial value of the fishery that come through the Port of Vigo.
We're at a stage where spreading plays a vital role
in the everyday tasks of the Project,
showing all the advances FAROS has achieved
as well as continue improving the technical tasks
that will lead us to reach the goals we established for our project.
We try to attract attention of the sector, and sell what we've achieved
so that all we have developed in Faros project,
the artificial vision technologies, the geosite for discards management and so,
may live on, that they don't die with the project, so that they don't end up in a drawer,
but may be implemented in real life instead.
We'll try to take beyond the life span of the Project,
and I think we'll make it.
