What I really love about my class are the instructors - they’re really nice;
They know a lot about their subject so it’s very informative.
And you have all different sorts of personalities here and all different age groups.
I talk about this program to everyone I know.
I always gravitated towards jobs that are about self-care and helping people feel better about themselves.
So it’s just a path I’ve drifted down my whole life.
After high school, my parents thought, “You should go to college and get an education”
But I always thought I could do more with my life, instead of working behind a desk.
So this is much more beneficial for me and more fulfilling.
When I told people I was in this program they were surprised because they thought I’d be going to a university,
But they’re not really informed about massage yet - over time maybe I can teach them something.
I’m really interested in learning about the other techniques we can do – like hot stone or aromatherapy.
It’s amazing all the stuff we learn; every day we learn something I’m like,
“I didn’t realize massage could effect the body this way , didn’t realize it helps you out in this way.”
I asked a couple chiropractors and a couple spas and massage clinics
What schools they recommend, who they tend to hire
and Harper was one of those names that just kept popping up. So I did my research, I went to a bunch of different
Massage therapy schools and I felt a really good fit here at Harper.
This is not just learning about massage and how to rub people’s backs; this is changing people’s lives for the good.
It’s so inspirational – this program, these instructors. Everyone involved in this program is just so supportive;
They really want you to develop yourself and question things and be able to impact other people’s lives.
