Hi this is Jon and in this clip we will be installing our trim. Our next step is to go
in the inside of our house and reinstall our trim pieces around our door frame. Now we
were able to find some dark colored trim at our home store and as you can see our new
trim is a pretty close match to our wood work in our house. Because this house does have
older wood work sometimes it is hard to find a trim that matches exactly. First we are
just going to take a quick measurement so that we know what length to cut our trim at.
Next we're going to cut our trim on the miter saw. Now when you're putting up your trim you want
to take a scrap piece and fit that together and you want to have the same amount of exposure
on each side of your door frame. This is going to give it the best look possible. Once your
placement is correct we are going to go ahead and pin nail your trim on. Next we are just
going to follow the same procedure for our other pieces of trim. Now that all of our
trim has been cut and put up, everything is starting to look really nice. If you can remember
from the beginning of our project our old trim had a big chunk missing where the dead
bolt might have hit it and this replacement trim sure is a nice looking fit for our project.
