Apple is rumored
to be breaking away from its traditional iPhone colors of black and white and now just might
offer a golden phone.
Pictures leaked by the French site MacBoutic
show what the golden iPhone will supposedly look like — a light gold tint the website
BGR refers to as a "champagne" color.
Rumors of a gold iPhone have been circulating for weeks, with pictures of gold parts and
components leaking on manufacturers' and retailers' websites.
But what started as a fairly unbelievable rumor is now all but confirmed, with sources
inside Apple telling AllThingsD the new color is a done deal, calling it "elegant."
Tech bloggers say if the company is going to break away from its traditional black-and-white
offerings, the color gold makes sense.
A writer for TechCrunch points out, "... gold is one of the most popular after-market color
adjustments for current iPhones (including gold cases). And gold has been in the midst
of a renaissance in style after years of being banished to 'gaudy and tacky' ..."
Golden iPhones are just one of many changes Apple is expected to unveil next month.
Among them is the rumor the iPhone 5S will feature a fingerprint scanner for increased
security. The company hasn't confirmed this feature yet. (Via DigitalTrends)
And a writer for the International Business Times says the new iPhone will likely have
128GBs of storage -- doubling the current iPhone 5's 64 gigs.
Apple is expected to reveal the new iPhone September 10th.
