Today, on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado new body we'll be test fitting the Softride
Dura Parallelogram titling four bike rack for 1-1/4 inch and 2-inch hitches, part number
SR26247. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver
tube of the hitch, line up the pinhole and tread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening
it with a wrench and fitting the lock in place. Now, we'll go over some clearance measurements.
We have about 16-1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closets point of the carrier to the rear
of our truck is about 1-1/2 inches, and we've added about 34 inches to the overall length
of our Silverado. We'll go ahead and undo our cradle straps and with our cradles exposed
we'll place our bike onto the frame cradles. We'll secure it by tightening down each
strap. We'll pull the pin on the passenger's side of the carrier up near the top, which
allows our carrier to tilt away from the vehicle with the bike loaded keeping it parallel with
the ground. This gives us access to the bed of our truck by being able to open our tailgate.
That completes today's test fit of the Softride Dura Parallelogram, part number SR26247
on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado new body. .
